Adopt the silk snood or circular scarf
Share
Trying on a silk snood is to adopt it. At Fibra Creativa, we love this circular scarf, the perfect combination of our favorite scarf material, natural silk, and a super trendy shape, both chic and practical. This is rare enough to be noticed.
The origin of the snood
The word snood rather evokes a large circular wool scarf, to wrap up against the cold.
Did you know? Originally, this curious word meant in English a hairnet, or an ear protector for dog breeds with fragile ears!
But things change, and from a utilitarian object, the snood has become a scarf intended for humans. Although if you want to spoil your dog, nothing stops you from giving one to him!
Adopted in French to designate a tubular scarf, it has become an essential trendy accessory available in many variations, from the polar cold protection scarf in thick knitted wool to the spring version in light cotton.

Why choose a silk snood?
Although it is less warm than more rustic materials like wool or synthetics like polar fleece, silk twill has many advantages!
On the style side, this very beautiful material with a sumptuous drape brings an undeniable chic note. Moreover, the printing of patterns and colors is superb on this thick and glossy silk fabric.
On the practical side, silk twill keeps the neck warm, but never too warm, thanks to the exceptional thermal qualities of silk. It is therefore an ideal scarf for all seasons, in temperate climates, and from autumn to spring elsewhere. Additionally, it can be perfectly worn indoors without getting too hot.
Another major advantage: silk does not itch !
The snood, a circular scarf that needs no knots
Unlike classic scarves, squares, and shawls, the snood does not need a knot to stay in place: it slips on in a flash and never escapes.
It is simply worn wrapped 2 or 3 times depending on the ambient temperature and the desired effect:
- 2 turns for maximum effect
- 3 turns for maximum protection against wind or cold
- … and it can be pulled up over the head like a hood if it starts to rain.
With a circular scarf, no more poorly tied knots! Wrapped in a flash around the neck, the snood does not escape, does not untie, and never slips to the ground by accident — unless you do a handstand!
Finally, this scarf model suits everyone and all occasions.
So why not try it? You might like it so much that you adopt it in all circumstances!
Discover our collection of original silk snoods
All our snoods are handmade in Catalonia: printed in high definition on heavy silk twill , then sewn in double thickness and closed by hand. The circumference of the circle is 180cm, which allows 3 turns around the neck without problems, and the width is 22cm, with 2 layers of silk fabric. The 2 sides are different from each other, sometimes with a clearly contrasting print.
Like all our other silk scarves, our snoods are inspired by nature or works of art. Discover here our collection of silk snoods.
